The new centerboards designed and developed form the team Marko Morgan and Alex Colja are still at the fast-lane! Two more championship-titles are obviously a remarkable sign for the immense success caused by perfect development und accurate manufacture of these unique centerboards.

Today difficult conditions permitted only one race at the startup of the final series. The wind did not blow very strong today, in direction from the south with 5-7 knots, later on shifting to east witch was a real challenge for some of the the leading teams (eg at the Ladies goldfleet). All in all, turbulent and up-an-down, for our golden fleet competitors too.

In the ladies-class Angelika and Anna finished with a fantastic 5th place after a strong finish! It didn’t work well today In the open-class for Niko and Raphael an so they did their discard.

In the silver fleets it was not less thrilling. Our ladies-teams „met at the wrong side of the starting line“ and uniformly received a BFD. What a pity! In the open-class Luna and Luis laid on 3rd place in between. At the end it was place 11. Only David and Oliver performed just a little bit better. Place 10 in the only race today. So it could go ahead quite in this way!

Today the conditions has been quite the same as yesterday, light winds form north with 7-10 kn.

Niko and Raphael are still on a good way and today they improved on place 23! Great and excellent! This should lead to a secure place in the gold fleet. Tomorrow the last two races from the qualification series are pending.

At the ladies course Angelika and Anna find their way back to their form from the ISAF championships. Place 29 in the ranking is the reward. Even for them the gold fleet is quite achiveable.

Besides this the performance between the competitors is really tight and not a single inch is given to an other boats. The rest of out teams are still fighting with the international high level of performance. So mistakes relentlessly are reflected in many points. For those teams for which these are the first championships it is still an important and great experience!

Our 11 teams who came to Schilksee had an eventful time this year with an extremely two-parted Kiel week. During the training days, in which the olympic classes sailed their races in parallel, there was even too much wind and during the regattas for the international classes extremely light winds. Besides this the wind was very shifty and due to local weather conditions very difficult to anticipate. From our teams Marco and Johannes where the best in these conditions and finally reached the excellent 55th place in their first Kiel Week, Angelika and Anna finished as best lady's team on the 75th place.

These had been four very difficult regatta days at Kiel and for sure it was not only difficult for the sailors but for the race officials too! Unusual little wind, and very warm conditions gave the sailors a flair of southerly regions.

Even if one would wrangle with the conditions but the enthusiasm for the Kiel Week remained unclouded for everyone.

Last Saturday the traditional training of the Austrian 420 Class Association during the Easter week 2014 in Izola were opened with the information- and welcoming evening. 40 participants (20 boats) were warmly greeted by the class authorities and by the sport director of the Austrian Sailing Federation. Beside the usual training program this year we offer a wide fields in evening and additional events so as tactical training with Philipp Malte, about meteorology up to a practically oriented security training.

On the first both days the participants still quarrelled with stagnation and very light wind conditions. Today Tuesday the experienced teams could improve her boatshandling with a stiff Bora, they beginners got all hands full with the squally wind.

We wishes You further still good wind and a successful training free of injury! Thanks already also to the trainers of this great week, Peter Krimbacher, Janez Mrak, Dominique Weisung and Roland Regnemer!

Already before the first selection regatta in Izola there you can compete in your early condition with international and experienced 420 sailors or perhaps it would be an optimal start in your preparations for this year. Beside this and according to the information of the organizers you can win exceptional and great material prizes. (sails, centerboards - witch were used exclusively by selecced ISAF und EUROFAS winners until jet :-) -, Sandiline equipment and much else)
